台灣早在1977年即由CCF推動民間社會福利團體支援學校的學校社會工作模式。受限於理念不同、合作不易而停擺。因於1995年的教育改革及台北市成淵國中性騷擾事件,促成國民教育法修正將專業人員納入學校輔導團隊,並由教育部在台灣省、北高兩市選擇部分學校推動學校社會工作專業人員進駐校園的試辦計畫,開啟了我國教育體系聘請學校社會工作者駐校的新頁。接著,部分縣市接續推動學校社會工作專案。目前已有台北縣市、新竹縣市、花蓮、台東聘有學校社會工作者,此外高雄市亦規劃中。
Social work services have been a part of the public schools since 1906 when Boston, Hartford, and New York incorporated this help in their districts. It has evolved steadily with support from school boards, social work community, and governments. It has also been sponsored by many other nations, for instance Sweden, Finland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. What are the problems in the school that have turned the public against the systems? Some of the most glaring will be discussed in this course are discipline, drop out, violence, bullying, drugs, gangs, sexual abuse, harassment, teaching values. Social workers facilitate the application of need and resource, and help by working with the individual student and parent, in group activities, and in a large sense, by working with the school administrators and community to make it possible for learning to occur.
